A life in letterforms.
An independent creative practice, with type at its heart.
History is a starting point.
Character is the destination.
Tim Rolands is a type designer and digital artist based in central Wisconsin. His creative work has spanned book and cover design, typography, advertising, web design, animation, and 3D modeling and art, alongside a career in software engineering and architecture.
The type collection brings historical influences into conversation with modern simplicity and function. Renaissance book types, Roman inscriptions, and handwritten forms inspire designs with personalities of their own.
All of the work here grows out of a lifelong love of language and letters.
In 2026, Tim Rolands celebrates 25 years on MyFonts—a quarter century of independent type design, historical exploration, and the enduring art of the written word.
